Signed the papers, wired money for the deposit, and headed home to change into grubby clothes. We brought over what felt like tons of tools (only to be outshone a day later by my dad). Our first order of business: scrape off the popcorn ceilings downstairs. We had come over a few days earlier to test whether we could even scrape the ceilings ourselves. Thankfully it worked!

Donning ventilated masks one of us sprayed the ceiling with water while the other scraped away.


It took about 2 hours to completely clear the popcorn from the living room ceiling. Next we tackled the dining room ceiling. It took us less time since it was a smaller area and we now considered ourselves "professionals".



The popcorn is wet and falls all over the floor when scraped. Quite a messy job!
