While I don't think you need to see every bump, bruise, and scrape we get (and believe me...it's a ton!) I wanted to add this little ditty to the blog. Why? Because this one happened within 5 minutes of me starting to paint. Scraped my arm on the door stopper that sits in the door framing. Ouch!
While I worked on painting most of the remaining downstairs walls green David was upstairs measuring, marking, and cutting holes in the drywall to string electrical wire for our recessed lighting. The joists in our ceiling run North and South so to connect the wires for the lighting we had to cut a hole in the drywall between each joist. Next, David used a drill-bit to make a hole in the joist for the wire to string through. After a lot of holes and dusty arms David reused much of the drywall to patch the holes. The next day George would be coming over to mud and tape the patches.
Painting is so fun when you first start. Then you look around and realize, "Holy cow! I have so much more to go!" The first coat of green went up pretty well. Later I'll have to go back and paint the edges between the wall and ceiling. Towards the end of the day Cyndie stopped by and helped paint what was left!
