• day 8

The a/c is still running fine! Phew! George was back today and headed to Lowe's right away with David to pick up drywall and some other supplies. George measured out each wall and ceiling as he went, cut holes for the outlets/duct/lighting and screwed the drywall into place.

While George worked downstairs on the drywall I worked on taking out the remaining tack strips upstairs. I had a fun time cutting carpet along the seams using a box-cutter. It was hard to get the carpet up and out of the way in the hallway closets! So- tack strips are all gone!!

Next David and I tackled the stair railing upstairs. It was held in with 9 long hex screws. We haven't decided if we're going to sand and repaint the stair railings we have or get something new. If you come over to our new place- just remember to watch your step upstairs- we don't need anyone falling over the edge and down the stairs!

Yesterday was Samantha's birthday (my littlest sister!). My family stopped by to see our progress. Lucky for Cyndie- she helped put in the light bulbs for our recessed lighting. It works! Hooray!!

In the midst of everything else going on our cabinets were delivered in the middle of the afternoon. Unfortunately they couldn't hold on to them through the weekend. Now our cabinets are in the center of our living room! Matt, our cabinet guy, will be installing them on Monday.

On a side note- our handyman George is awesome! (If you couldn't tell from all the work we've had him do!) Below is the back of his t-shirt with his phone number. Give him a call if you have something you need taken care of!
